What is the best natural remedy to stop acid reflux and heartburn, without drugs or antacids?
How do I get rid of Acid Reflux and heartburn without drugs? I’m worried about hiatal hernia, ulcers, bile reflux and other complications of Acid Reflux… I have severe heartburn and possibly Acid Reflux disease. I do not want to start the horrible, harmful drugs and antacids, as I’ve heard that they can actually worsen my Acid Reflux over time. I’m looking for a natural cure or remedy that will not only stop the heartburn and Acid Reflux, but also something that will cure it forever??? Is it possible to naturally treat Acid Reflux or are the treatments always drugs?

drink lots of milk and I’m sure if you paid a visit to a health food shop they would no doubt have a natural remedy for you.

I think charcoal tablets/capsules are the best - they are natural and soak up all the acid and gas in stomack and intestines.
get them in almost any pharmacy.

Drugs are not always the answer but if the natural remedies don’t work then you need to go on one of the many medications before you do permanent damage. I have had Acid Reflux for years and treat it with herbs. I am listing a few and if you need more just contact me.
Herbal remedies for Acid Reflux include chamomile, meadowsweet, slippery elm, cancer bush, fennel, catnip, angelica root, gentian root, ginger root and other botanicals, including aloe. Slippery elm was used historically by native peoples to treat stomach upset, diarrhea, constipation, heartburn and other digestive complaints. Fennel and gingerroot were also common “folk remedies” for the relief of indigestion. Modern herbalists have found that a combination of several of the herbs that had been used for indigestion could be effective natural remedies for Acid Reflux. Some may call them natural “cures” for Acid Reflux, but long-term relief of Acid Reflux is best accomplished by changes in lifestyle and eating habits.

I was having extreme problems similar to your description had tired gaviscon and it got worse, some of the otc prosilec type drugs and it got worse. Thought finally that I was having heart trouble. My final step before going to the pill pusher was to take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water (not the distilled stuff it is for industrial uses). Heartburn disappeared in about 15 seconds, seems I was having trouble with low stomach acid and it was mimicking high acid. I now have my bottle of organic apple cider vinegar as well as some apple cider vinegar tablets and I take digestive enzymes with every meal. No more problems.

If overweight, lose weight. If a smoker, stop smoking. If a drinker, stop alcohol consumption. If a coffee drinker, stop coffee drinking. Avoid fatty foods like pizza, burgers, fries, sausage, other fried food, potato chips and other fatty snacks, high fat cheese, fatty desserts. Eat smaller meals. Increase fruit and veggie consumption. Limit spicy foods and foods in the onion family. Don’t eat after 6pm at night. Sleep with the head of your bed slightly elevated (put thick books under the legs).
If all that doesn’t help, you may have Acid Reflux or another rmedical condition and should see your doctor for medication. Left untreated, Acid Reflux can cause damage to the esophagus and greatly increase your risk of cancer.

Sometimes i really wonder whether tablets like quickeze or mylanta do help! I have had Acid Reflux badly last night, i tried all but nothing made it better. I personally beleive that cutting down on spicy foods completely would help and that also means not taking pepper….

I am not a doctor, so either way you will want to talk to them, but this is what I have to say as a long time sufferer of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.)!
Three part answer information, what not to do, and what to do!
INFORMATION!!!!!!
I have a very severe case of Acid Reflux (G.E.R.D.). I have had to go to the hospital for some of the heartburn that I have had because the pain can become overwhelming or your breathing can be effected. It can be caused by Smoking, Drinking Beverages with caffeine (My case), Drinking Beverages with Alcohol, or can be Hereditary
The good thing about G.E.R.D. is that it can be a temporary thing and can be cured. It is never a permit thing even if you end up with it for the rest of your life it has the ability to be cured.
G.E.R.D. is caused by too much acid being created in your stomach. This can lead to or cause ulcers, esophagus damage, heartburn and/or damage in the mouth. . Other symptoms that can be found in a few cases are dizziness, tingling in limbs, numbness of Limbs, Chest/Back pain focused on the left side (in most cases), and shortness/difficulty breathing.
WHAT NOT TO DO!!!!!!!!
In most cases, stress is a factor to the reflux if you watch what you eat and reduce some of the stress it will help. If you watch what you eat for about a week you should find relief, if you do not then that is when you definitely what to listen to the doctor. Things to watch for are as follows:
Fatty Foods
Citrus Foods
Foods That Contain Grease
Fried Foods
Chocolate (including any Coco)
Caffeine
Smoking
Alcohol
Tomato Based Products
Lactose
Roughage (Berries and Nuts)
Onions
WHAT TO DO!!!!
The two foods that I recommend is Black strap Molasses and Raw honey. The apple is better for night time reflux while these will work for just about all of it. What you will do is take about a tsp. of whatever one you chose. Molasses being the better because of strength and nutrition, but must be use to the taste. What the substance will do is stick to the sides of the esophagus and do two things, one is heal and the other is protect.
On the healing end, both substances have a healing property in them, and as they sit on the walls of the esophagus they will heal it. This is also helpful if you have a sore throat in the morning from refluxing.
On the protection end, both substances are high in sugar and when acid that is refluxed comes up to that the sugar will neutralize it and it will not longer be a problem at that point.
I would also look to putting Cinnamon and Ginger in you diet, they have been know to help with digestion and will help you reduce the amount of acid needed to brake down food, therefore causing you to reflux less.
