Drink milk, take tums, & sleep w/ your upper body at a slight sitting up angle (don’t lay too flat).

Yes. Green barley grass powder worked for me by alkalizing me. I used a product called Greenzymes from Nikken. I add it to OJ. It took a little getting used to but now I crave it. When diet, stress, eating too late etc. kick it up I just take an extra time or two and it is gone. I no longer have to take Previcid. You can find out more from http://www.mynikken.net/winters Hope this helps.

Well taking apple vinegar is simply moronic. The other things you have taken will be a temporary fix. The problem can be caused by a hiatal hernia, and if you have a bad one then surgery is the only fix. But there are some logical things you can try. First if you are overweight try to lose some. I know when I lose weight my Acid Reflux goes away. Next if it bothers you at night, then don’t eat for at least 2 hours prior to bedtime. Don’t wear tight pants, and don’t eat or drink acid foods like coffee, orange juice that sort of thing. I know bananas kill me. If all fails then drugs is the treatment of choice and since nexium is not working there are others on the market. Try prilosec otc. or pepsid AC they are both otc and cheap to try. If the drugs are not working then it is time to do more. Acid Reflux can increase your chances of esophageal cancer, and that is a very deadly form of cancer.

Baking soda works wonders for me. If that hasn’t worked or you try fresh garlic and lots “o” water. That ought do it. You may need to detox.

Whilst MR Answer doesn’t seem to be too kind to you, he does have a point!
The best and cheapest answer to Acid Reflux or GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease) is water! ALL reflux patients are chronically dehydrated (try reading “Your body’s many cries for water” by Dr F Bathmangelidj).
Whilst a hiatus hernia MAY be the cause of the symptoms, (having had the surgery) I wouldn’t recommend the surgical option. Proper hydration will help your hernia resolve itself, after which the reflux will vanish (unless there is another cause for it, although this is also likely water related)

Well, I know that eating carbohydrates causes Acid Reflux. Just for giggles, stop eating carbs for a few days. See if it works for you. Carbs ferment in our bodies causing Acid Reflux. We do not need to eat carbs to be healthy. We do however need protein. It’s what our bodies are made of. Carbs cause high colestrol, heart attacks, high blood pressure and the like. And doctors do not study nutrition.
