What surgeries and treatments are available to people suffering from the deadly acid reflux disease?
I have this horrible life changing disease. My stomach can’t take it anymore, and Prilosec OTC is starting to suck. It doesn’t work like it used to.
I know that exercise help, diet, etc.
I want to know more about what surgeries are available.

There is a procedure performed usually laproscopically called a Nissen Fundoplication.
It can either be a full or partial wrap.
It is not stomach stapling.
They take the top part of the stomach called the fundus and wrap it around the bottom of the oesphagus called the cardiac sphincter and pull it tight.
This stops stomach acid leaving your stomach and burning your oesphagus. It does what the sphincter is supposed to do.
It works extremely well.
Recovery time varies but is usually around two weeks for laproscopic surgery.
Reflux is only deadly if it is severe and over a long period of time as it causes errosion of the lining of the oesphagus and can cause ulceration and cancer. But that is extreme.
Worrying will make it worse.
